This course applies to all those who are living in a dominant culture and want to know what are the issues of assimilation and cultural pluralism for intergroup relations. Diversity is often seen as a source of strength, but at the same time, it can be a source of conflict due to the inevitable challenges of pluralism: the ever-growing conflicts between religious, national, and ethnic groups and the growing oppression and injustice towards individuals by the dominant group.
