About Course
The belief that Allah (God in Islam) controls the weather system is a fundamental aspect of Islamic faith for many Muslims. In Islam, Allah is believed to be the creator and sustainer of the universe, and His control over natural phenomena, including the weather, is emphasized in the Quran, the holy book of Islam.
Several verses in the Quran describe Allah’s power and control over the natural world, including weather-related phenomena:
1. “And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.” (Quran 7:57)
2. “Do you not see that Allah drives clouds? Then He brings them together, then He makes them into a mass, and you see the rain emerge from within it. And He sends down from the sky, mountains [of clouds] within which is hail, and He strikes with it whom He wills and averts it from whom He wills. The flash of its lightning almost takes away the eyesight.” (Quran 24:43)
These verses and others emphasize Allah’s control over the weather, including the formation of clouds, the sending of rain, and the occurrence of thunder and lightning. For many Muslims, these teachings affirm the belief that Allah is the ultimate authority over all aspects of existence, including natural phenomena like the weather. As such, many Muslims pray to Allah for rain during times of drought or for relief from extreme weather conditions, seeking His mercy and benevolence.
